Broads Addition, Wroxham
This reconfiguration of a family home is to provide additional accommodation to facilitate home-working and to provide a better connection to the garden and existing pool. The extended kitchen and dining space will receive sunlight throughout the day and allows dual aspect views. The study is located at the far end of the extension with views of the eastern garden and morning light, providing lofty and airy interior spaces for the upper floor office.
A simple palette of materials is proposed, inspired by local examples of boathouses and sheds, whilst providing a contemporary feel. Lightweight cladding reduces the embodied energy of the wall construction and new profiled metal roof will allow fine detailing to enhance the contemporary feel of the extension, whilst allowing for simple construction.
