Palazzo Ricci, Umbria

Built in 1799 for Italian nobility, Palazzo Ricci will be fully restored to create 14 luxury apartments, new lounge, a rooftop observation deck and fitness centre with 24hr concierge service. The grounds will be transformed to create a new private garden with swimming pool and spa complete with outdoor living and dining areas.

The Palazzo has a wealth of original features and an complicated layout, which has been altered many times over the years. In order to help ‘un-pick’ these layers of history and with an international design team collaborating remotely across the globe, having a shared 3D model is an incredibly helpful communication tool. Redhead Architects have been appointed to create a highly detailed 3D BIM model of the Palazzo, which allows us to overlay the existing building with the proposed design. We are creating virtual ‘walk-throughs’ to continually test ideas and reference back to a coordinated set of technical drawings.
